SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY SERVICES

Assessment and Intervention

Burlington & Niagara Offices:
  • $151/hour - assessment and treatment sessions (applied to direct and indirect time)

  • $131/45-minute treatment sessions

  • $151/hour - consultation and written reports/correspondence

  • $151/hour travel to off-site visits or meetings (plus mileage rate of $0.55/km)

Markham (Sparkling Seeds) Office:
  • $200/50-minute assessment and treatment sessions (applied to direct and indirect time)

Voice Assessment

  • $471 - full assessment with videostroboscopy

  • $296 - without videostroboscopy

  • $196 - videostroboscopy only

Swallowing Assessment

  • $185 for bedside/tableside swallowing assessment

  • $470 videofluoroscopy/modified barium swallow study (includes report)

Communication Intermediary Services

  • $205/hour for all direct and indirect services and travel time (plus applicable mileage rate of $0.55/km)

CANCELLATION POLICY & BILLING

Cancellations &  No-Shows

The full session fee will be billed for no-shows and for sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, except in the case of inclement weather or illness.

Payment Options

Fees for service are payable upon receipt of your invoice. Special material fees are negotiated, if applicable. Payment may be made by:

  • cash

  • debit                  

  • cheque

  • Visa

  • Mastercard

  • e-transfer

Late Payments

Interest is charged at a rate of 2% per month on all outstanding balances. Accounts that are more than 90 days overdue are referred to collections. Monthly bills may be arranged upon request.

Returned Cheques

An administration fee of $25 will be charged for any cheque returned by your bank for any reason, in addition to any interest charges on overdue amounts.

Insurance Coverage

S. L. Hunter SpeechWorks' billing relationship is with you. If you wish to use health insurance to cover some of our fees, it is your responsibility to determine and monitor your coverage and to seek reimbursement from your insurer. We can provide general information about insurance coverage but you should consult your insurer for specific details.

Income Tax Deductions

The cost of speech-language pathology services may be claimed as a Medical Expense on your taxes.  For a complete list of eligible medical expenses, visit the CRA website.
 
You may be eligible for a Disability Tax Credit. If so, we can complete the applicable tax forms for you. There is a $20 fee for this service. The Canada Revenue Agency is responsible for determining your eligibility.
