VLOG: Targeting Language While Getting Dressed
One of the best ways to teach language is by modeling new words and creating opportunities for your child to use similar words. Every day we wash dishes, get dressed, prepare and eat meals, to name a few - so let’s use those moments to create learning opportunities everyday! It’s easier than you think!
Some Tips:
- Start by modelling words in your child’s environment
- Make sure you are pausing to encourage repetition
Language You Can Target:
- Clothing items
- socks, underwear, shirt, pants
- depending on weather: boots, coat, mittens, scarf, hat, snow pants
- Action words
- put on
- take off
- zip up - down
- pull off
