Regular Follow-Up
Your journey does not end with your assessment. Our team can help devise an individualized treatment plan and work with you to improve your swallowing function for improved quality of life.
Do I Need a Swallowing Assessment?
If you experience any of the following, you may benefit from swallowing assessment and/or treatment:
- coughing, gagging, or clearing your throat while eating or after eating
- food/pills feeling “stuck” in the throat
- food left over in the mouth after swallowing
- chewing very slowly/taking a long time to eat
- “wet” sounding voice after eating
- food falling out of the mouth
- pain when swallowing
Gold Standard of Care

Our clinicians perform comprehensive swallowing assessments using the guidelines set out by the International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI), a global standard used for people with swallowing difficulties of all ages, in all care settings, and for all cultures.

Each of our clinicians is certified in use of the Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile, a standardized protocol to interpret and communicate swallowing impairment in a manner that is subjective, consistent, accurate, and objective.
